The Caribbean is at its best between
December and April when temperatures are most comfortable and there is less
chance of rain. Many people, however, choose to travel outside peak season to
save money. The Caribbean is home to many festivals, the grandest of which is
in Trinidad, two days before Ash Wednesday in
February or March. The Havana Carnival takes place in late July/early August,
while the four-day St Lucian Jazz festival takes place in mid-May.
