Caribbean & Bermuda > Caribbean

Take a moment to imagine your perfect beach holiday, surrounded by icing sugar sand, crystal clear water and palm trees. That is what awaits you in the Caribbean! Enjoy the relaxed, friendly atmosphere offered by this sunny corner of the world.

Jamaica is always a popular destination for travellers and it’s not difficult to see why. Mile upon mile of unspoilt beaches neighbour some of the finest luxury holiday resorts in the world.

In contrast to the luxuries of Jamaica, Cuba is a great destination where you will find a unique and vibrant cultural life. Experience the elegance of Havana, which has been relatively untouched by tourism after years of communist rule. Watch the giant-finned American cars as they growl down the street in one of the least ‘touristy’ cities in the Caribbean.

For many, the Bahamas and Antigua are the very definition of tropical paradise; the turquoise waters of the Atlantic lap at secluded golden beaches. It is no wonder this is a popular destination for honeymooners. Antigua’s tiny neighbour Barbuda is one of the world’s hidden gems, and is well worth a day trip. The only trouble is, you may never want to leave!

  • Combine a shopping trip in New York or Boston with a relaxing holiday on the pink sands of Bermuda where you can windsurf, sail or just paddle in the warm turquoise waters
  • Travel in Spring (March – June) to the sleepy island of Tobago and if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of the giant leatherback turtles who come to lay their eggs on the North Shore beaches
  • Sip mojitos in Havana admiring the Spanish colonial architecture, and salsa the night away Cuban style at one of the many buzzing nightclubs
  • Hop your way round the Windward Isles and French Antilles exploring the rainforests, birdlife and mountains of these beautiful volcanic Islands of the Eastern Caribbean
  • Rent a boat or kayak to see the nightly displays of bioluminescence at Phosphorescent Bay on the islet of Vieques off the East coast of Costa Rica

The Caribbean is at its best between December and April when temperatures are most comfortable and there is less chance of rain. Many people, however, choose to travel outside peak season to save money. The Caribbean is home to many festivals, the grandest of which is in Trinidad, two days before Ash Wednesday in February or March. The Havana Carnival takes place in late July/early August, while the four-day St Lucian Jazz festival takes place in mid-May.
