Europe > France
France is a country of sophisticated cities alongside mile upon mile of glorious countryside. It offers some of Europe’s finest skiing conditions in the winter, and some of its best city breaks all year round.
Paris is the style capital of the world. Chic boulevards host some of the finest shops in Europe, frequented by impossibly stylish Parisians. World famous attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysee and Louvre museum have enduring popularity with visitors from around the globe.
Further south, Marseille is a fantastically mischievous destination for those seeking a city break in the sun. As with most of Southern France, the weather is glorious from April through to September, but never drops below comfortable, even in the winter months. Explore the old port and discover another side to French life.
The salubrious French Riviera offers glorious weather and stunning surroundings. Live out your James Bond dreams as you step up to the most glamorous roulette tables in the world, or settle down to a game of craps with a friend (or arch-enemy). Live the high life in Monte Carlo or simply relax on some of Europe’s finest beaches.
The Southern city of Toulouse has a beautiful, old-world feel, perfect if you’re looking to ‘get away from it all.’ It is also located a few short hours from the French Pyrenees, home to a number of Europe’s great skiing resorts. A trip to Andorra, for example, will offer you ample powder snow in stunning alpine surroundings. If you are still not exhausted after days spent gliding down the slopes, Andorra’s nightlife is legendary.
Weather conditions in northern France are similar to much of Northern Europe: sunny and pleasant in the summer, overcast and wet in the winter. Southern France sits on the Mediterranean and shares similar weather to Spain and Southern Italy. The summer months, particularly July and August, can get very hot. Mountainous regions are generally cooler, particularly in the winter.
