Sports Breaks > Skiing and Winter Sports

A break in a mountain resort offers the perfect opportunity to hit the slopes, while taking in some stunning scenery.

Our holidays cater for all levels of skier and snowboarder, from absolute beginner to expert. We can provide accommodation in traditional chalets, apartments or a hotel, depending on your requirements and wishes.

There is no experience on Earth like gliding down a mountain on skis or a snowboard, the sun shining on the snow and the world rushes by. Of course, it is entirely up to you whether you choose to hit the slopes at all. Many ski resorts have a great selection of restaurants, shops and bars (après ski) to keep you entertained if you don’t want to ski.

The beauty of a winter sports holiday is that there is something on offer for everyone, from honeymooners looking for a romantic, secluded mountain spot to families with young children, who are very well catered for. We offer snowboarding breaks at some of the coolest resorts in the world, where everyone from beginners to experts will have a great time. As with all of our holidays, our focus is on your needs.

  • Many AITO members offer child-care, nurseries and day care activities giving you the chance to perfect your skiing whilst the children are kept happy and active whilst playing in the snow
  • Head to Canada for that skiing adventure of a lifetime – try Heli-skiing on the famously light and dry powdery snow at Whistler or snowcat skiing in the tranquil backcountries at Fernie
  • Pamper yourself after a full day on the slopes taking advantage of mobile massage services with a range of treatmeats to soothe aching limbs and replenish your energy levels
  • Visit one of the most famous ski resorts, Val d’Isere, offering traditional French charm, cosmopolitan clientele and a vast range of après-ski for every age and taste
  • Why not move away from the slopes and spend time dog sledding, cross country skiing or snow-shoeing in the wilds of Sweden

There are hundreds of resorts all over the world which offer fantastic skiing conditions, so be sure to choose the right one for you. Some are livelier than others, some focus on providing excellent facilities for families, while some are very much geared towards expert skiers. When choosing a destination, be sure to consider some of the smaller resorts as well as the internationally famous, Winter-Olympics-hosting sort.

Keen skiers will already know that some of the most challenging and rewarding skiing conditions can be found in the southern hemisphere (particularly Argentina) during the northern hemisphere’s summer months.
